The Jeep has not only found a special place in your heart, but the notable auto brand has also nestled into the hearts of millions of Americans, who love their Jeep just as much as you.
Let’s take a look at some of the reasons why the American automaker is so amazing with these awesome Jeep facts.
American Army Brat
While we now know the Jeep to be more of a consumer vehicle, it was used as one of the major forms of transportation during World War II. Also called the Willy MB, over 500,000 Jeeps were produced for military purposes. The automobile was a crucial American contribution to modern warfare.
Two Doors, or Not Two Doors
The iconic Jeep Wrangler is the only vehicle in production with the ability to have its doors fully removed. While this is an awesome design feature for the Wrangler, one disclaimer before attempting to remove your Wrangler doors: Much like IKEA, it is best to be done with more than one person.
‘Mr. Worldwide’ of Cars
The Jeep brand isn’t just popular in the United States. Its popularity extends globally. In 2015, the company recorded over 1.2 million shipments of their vehicles world wide. Beep, beep, that’s a whole lot of Jeep!
Jeep Hurricane Concept
The 2005 Jeep Hurricane is considered to be one of the most expensive Jeeps in the world. How expensive you ask? 2 million bucks expensive. Jeepers that one hell of a Jeep!
Super Fast Hauling Machine
Up until recently when the Lamborghini Urus blasted its way to being the fastest SUV in the world, Jeep was at the top of the list for having super speed Jeep. The newest Jeep Grand Cherokee Trailhawk has 707 horsepower and shoots from 0-60 MPH in 3.5 seconds. While the Urus may have a fastest reported top speed and 0-60 time, the Jeep has one over the super SUV and that’s its towing capability. This Jeep can tow up to 7,200 lbs!
Cute Little Jeep
There are many different theories out there about how Jeep got its name. It is actually a topic of great debate. My personal favorite is the theory that the automaker is named after Eugene the Jeep. A cute little cartoon character you may remember from Popeye.
The 40th President of the United States, Ronald Reagan was a Jeep guy. He owned two known Jeeps: a 1983 CJ-8 Scrambler Renegade and his red 1962 CJ-6. His love for the brand is not surprising as he was accustomed to driving Jeeps in World War II.
The list of reasons why you love your Jeep is probably a long one. But now you can add these awesome Jeep facts to it as well.
Cheers, to Jeep Life, y’all!
